If you were blocked from signing in to a Samsara application, your iPhone or iPad did not pass one of our security checks. Find your check below and follow the steps.
Contents
1. Device Is Jailbroken
Why is this a problem?
Jailbreaking removes Apple's built-in security protections from an iPhone or iPad. A jailbroken device can install unverified apps, bypass encryption, and is far more vulnerable to malware and data theft. Because jailbroken devices cannot meet Samsara's security standards, they are not allowed to access company resources.
How do I fix this?
Unlike most other checks, this one cannot be fixed by changing a setting.
If you did not jailbreak your device on purpose and this check is still failing, your device may have been compromised without your knowledge. Contact #help-biztech on Slack right away and include:
- Your device model (for example, iPhone 15 Pro)
- Check name: Ensure Device Is Not Jailbroken
- Source: Okta Device Assurance
- When the problem started
2. Passcode Is Not Set
Why is this a problem?
A passcode is your device's first line of defense. It stops anyone from opening your device and reading company data if it is ever lost or stolen. This check fails if no passcode is set, or if your passcode does not meet Samsara's minimum requirements.
How do I fix this?
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode on older devices).
- Tap Turn Passcode On.
- Enter a 6-digit passcode and confirm it.
Still not working?
Post in the #help-biztech Slack channel and include:
- Your device model (for example, iPhone 15 Pro)
- Check name: Require Passcode Configuration
- Source: Okta Device Assurance
- When the problem started
