⚠️ If you are a new hire, please first follow the Setting up Okta and enrolling in Incode (New Hire) guide to get your Okta account set up.
If you have been provisioned a Microsoft Windows 365 virtual desktop for your work, please follow these steps to log in and use it.
Before you begin
You will need:
- a computer with adequate specs and a supported, modern web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari)
- your Samsara Okta credentials. Follow the instructions sent by BizTech to your email on how to set up your Okta account if you have not done so already.
How to Connect to your VDI
- Log in to your Samsara Okta Dashboard at https://samsara.okta.com
- Click on the "Windows 365" tile to open the VM login page.
- Once your Windows 365 dashboard loads, click on the Cloud PC tile in the middle to launch a session in your browser. If you don't see a tile for a Cloud PC, or see an error message that says "Your organization hasn't assigned you a Cloud PC", please reach out to BizTech with the error message for further troubleshooting.
- When prompted, select any items that you wish to link to your local machine (e.g. Clipboard or any printers). Then, click the Connect button to start the connection to your VDI.
- The VDI will ask for your username and password. The username will be your Samsara email address, and the password is the same as your Okta password.
- You should now be connected to the VDI and land at the desktop. Note, because of networking wake-up times, your VDI may connect and then give a brief "Reconnecting..." message - this is normal and expected.
This section below is now hidden and will run in the backend - Slack, Chrome, etc will automatically load on the desktop after 30 minutes. Zscaler (VPN) will also disconnect the very first time it is connected, please sign in with Okta credentials.
If this is your first time connecting to the VDI, your instance will now configure itself. This can take up to 30 minutes and will show you progress messages as the tasks complete.
7. Once configured and at your desktop, you will need to sign in to Zscaler with your Samsara Okta credentials. Once signed in, your VDI is set up and ready to use!
